Help! Airbnb hosting taxes Italy...

We have a house we are going to list on Airbnb in Italy. We are British nationals and wondered what taxes need to be declared to the Italian government? Or does Airbnb automatically pay these for us?

Any help gratefully received!

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link but it's too general. It would be good to hear perspective from other UK nationals who have a gouse in Italy. Thank you.

Hi.
At present Airbnb does not collect taxes or any information regarding tax income.
But from the start of 2023 to fall in with EU regulations,  hosts will need to provide details of their rental income to airbnb.
Yes, you will need to pay tax in Italy on your rental income. You can choose whether to pay a flat rate or a higher rate which allows certain costs to be deducted.
From our perspective, we’d prefer airbnb to take the tax at source but sadly they don’t.
There may be implications on your U.K. tax situation.
Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for this, I have seen this email from Airbnb already and understand that Airbnb will require tax details from hosts. But what I really am interested in is paying if tax to the Italian government, how is this done, what's the amount and etc etc... Maybe someone knows an Italian accountant that specialises in oversees Airbnb rentals?

Thank you.
