Hello community,
We have been hosting our unique cabins for a couple of years. Last year we decided to share our family cabin on a remote island in SE Alaska for giggles. We have been amazed by the response and committment our guests go to make this special joourney happen. We are also amazed that the owner of the small exclusive fishing lodge that shares the island is anti sharing economy, anti airbnb and basically anti us. She has even created a airbnb account and is constantly posting inquiries; aka complaints to the point of harrassment. Its crazy as we literally charge 35$ a night compared to the lodge 1500$ but we are still being viewed as competition.
I have been polite but firm that we will not be bullied and declined her request but the communication window is still open and we do not know what to do. Is there a way to have her banned, blocked? Appreciate all and help suggestions.
FYI we snoozed the property because of all this drama; plus the local city is trying to create revenue via new tax structure which is good but waiting to see how the politics play out. If you do come to Alaska look us up.
