I did not cancel for my reasons was helping a guest who had made a mistake...now my calendar is blocked. After over 8 messages back and forth trying to help a quest who had made a mistake I canceled for them and got blocked. Any recommendations?
@Leona6 If you cancel - the dates will always be blocked, you will be penalized and sometimes fined $100 and you will have a "Host Cancelled this" on your review page. Call Airbnb and plead ignorance and they might undo it.
btw: If you get an email from Airbnb asking if you want to cancel a guest if you say "Yes" you will still be penalized, dates blocked etc.
ALWAYS have the guest do the cancelling.

Just call Air BnB customer service, and they will unblock your calendar after you explain the situation. I did this once.
And one more thing...keep that Air BnB customer service number handy, and use it when you run into issues like this.
Do not cancel for guests, even if they made a mistake, have them do it themselves.
I shows negatively on you and yes you are penalized. Guests can call Airbnb themselves and cancel.
And before canceling, call CX first.
