I am writing something and need to know if AirBNB was renting out apartments in San Francisco in mid 2009. Had they started renting on that level yet?

I did. There are plenty of stories around their beginning. I need to know specifically if they had people renting homes to guests in 2009. I realize they had sold the cereal by then, gotten seed money, but need to know if and, if possible the ballpark number, of places that were for rent through Air BnB during that transitional period.
