Hello,
I recently applied to reserve a property in August next year and the host has took my deposit but explains that they might not be hosting their home in august 2020?
What do i do? Do i cancel this booking or do I get the host to cancel it booking?
many thanks
Harriet
@Harriet75 the host should be the one to cancel it. If he doesn't want to do it contact Airbnb and have them handle the situation. It is not your fault and the host is the one who should deal with it.
@Harriet75 the host shouldn't have dates open for bookings if they don't think they'll be hosting.
Don't cancel it yourself as you may lose money depending on the host cancellation policy. As @Ana1136 said the host should be cancelling it themselves & if they don't then you need to contact airbnb.
hello, yes it was a bit annoying that they had offered the dates as available for booking then messaged me to say they wernt, they have offered me an alternative and it has good reviews and is at the same place adn everything. its a little cheaper as well so ill be happy to go there. Is my first time using air b & b so just trying to do the right thing! Thank you for your replys x
