Host requesting additional information before visit

Just wondered if it was legitamate for a host to ask for passport and address details before our arrival as guests?

i thought I was booking with an individual but turns out to be some kind of letting agency who have sent me a form to fill in before our arrival.

As super hosts with over 80 positive reviews, I dont think there should be a need to complete the form.

It depends where you are booking. For example in Andalucia where they have got a lot tougher with AirBnB hosts it is not surprising if they ask for passport and other details as these might need to be passed on to the police/local authorities under the local laws.
