Host want to charge more

Hi, I have booked accomodation in Rio just before the olypics starts. We are paying around 150 a night for a small apartment. which is pricey enough so we thought she had already adjusted her price for the olympics. She then messaged us saying the price would be 3000 per night, which is around 700 euro. There is only two of us and we simply cannot afford this price. We would be willing to negotiate but she will not respond to any of my messages. I have messaged her numerous times as we dont know if our accomodation is secure. HOwever we have already been charged as it was instant book. What should we do?

@Mary64 I would flag the listing so you can let Airbnb know what's happening. I would also contact Airbnb directly.

@Mary64

Once you have a confirmed booking, there is a binding contract.  Too bad the host did not keep the prices up to date.  Unless they cancel, you should have a place to stay at the agreed price.

Definitely contact airbnb and flag the message about the price increase.

From a practical point of view I do not think this will end well so look for other accomodation.

I would imagine AirBnB will delist them.

@Mary64, contact AirBnB ASAP (after flagging the listing).
