Host wants triple what I paid for

Looking for advice. Last night on Airbnb I booked and paid for 10 nights (two five-night blocks) in a villa in the centre of Phuket Island for our family of six.
The person managing or who owns this property, Rinyarat, immediately discussed things with me, clarified how many people were coming and that I had paid. I answered all her questions and carefully wrote out our information again.
This morning I have received an email from her saying there was a mistake on the website and the price is actually three times the amount I paid and I must now pay the new price to stay there. What do I do now?

Do not change anything in the reservation if you booked for the right number of people, @Leandra8. A reservation is a binding contract for both parties. If the host keeps insisting on any extra charges, get Airbnb involved in the case - you will find a pinned post in the Help section how to do it:

it is possible, I've heard few hosts complain about glitches with prices. Or, he just forgot to update his calendar.

He should send you an alteration request  and you can accept it or decline it. If you decline it then:

- he has a choice to cancel the reservation (he will be penalized with fees , blocked calendar etc...) or to host you for the price you booked

- you can go to Puhket and risk to find the door closed .

- the best would be to contact Aribnb (you should have ABB phone no on your booking confirmation) and explain the situation. They will probably cancel the reservation on your host behalf and you will get your money back or be able to use it as a credit for another booking

Is the price fair and on par with other properties in the area?  If it does seem low, there might have been an error.  I suggest getting in touch with Airbnb to work this out with the host.  🙂
