How can you prevent guests from smoking on your property

Recently a guest smoked in the garage and of course it really smells horrible and I have signs everywhere that state no smoking any where on the property.  I also have a $500 dollar fine posted, however, Airbnb says I have to have proof so how do you prove smoke odors?

AirBnB does not allow you to 'fine' guests. You have to prove damage by bringing in a specialist cleaning company to get rid of the smoke. Even then I don't believe AirBnB will side with you when it was smoking in a garage.......

I would avoid the stress and just give a brief professional review of the guest along the lines  of: Nice guest but did not abide by house rules. 

Also give him a thumbs down..

As hard as you try you will never stop people smoking, we have a large villa with a pool so we let people smoke outside but we do tell them no smoking in the villa which seems to work.

It has a large patio and BBQ area at the front Smoke there,

We also have an apartment that has smoke detectors and we warn them if they smoke inside when it goes off it goes down to a control room and if false alarm we get charged $25 by the management, not had anybody set it off yet.
