I had a booking inquiry but the guest did not book. I have since increased my price and he is angry and threatening me because 2 weeks after his initial inquiry he is saying he wants to book the house. He was free to book immediately and did not do so. I have had many inquiries and exchangd emails in the past and still people did not book.
He is threatening to slander me and my listing on the Airbnb community. What should I do?
Ignore him.
Sadly the world is full of idiots, just be grateful he did not book.
@Joanne75 if he didn't book at the time he saw the better price then that is his fault. As a host you are under no obligation to keep a price the same just because a guest has contacted you about the property but not made a booking. You are free to change your prices as many times as you want until a guest makes a booking. He wouldn't get far if he tried it at a major hotel.
@Joanne75 While there is little you need to do about his dissatisfaction with the price change, please report the guest to Air BNB using the report flag under the profile title. It is never okay for a guest or host to be harrassing. I am assuming you have been communicating via Air BNB message system.
I agree with @Linda108 Please flag this guest's profile. In fact, I would go one further, call BNB and let them know what has happened...they can take some time to get to a flagged profile.
In the meantime don't respond at all to the correspondence he sends.
Hi @Joanne75,
Just to add to the advice given by @Linda108 and @Helen3 to flag his profile, if there are messages on the Airbnb system from him that are rude or agressive, you can report the individual message by clicking on the flag icon on the right hand side, as below:
It may also be a good idea to contact Airbnb if it continues.
Happy New Year!
