How do me and the guest cancel a future booking amicably?

Hi,

I'm pretty new to this. I have a listing, with a 'strict' policy and 'instant booking'.

A guest made a reservation, we communicated, and we amicably decided to cancel the booking.

But we couldn't find a way to do that without any one of us paying some kind of penalty 😞

Is there a way to do that?

Hi Uri,

In this type of situation, you should contact Airbnb and they may be able to help you out. Another way you could do this so it does not cost too much to the guest is alter the reservation to a day and then that will substantially decrease the Airbnb fee. You may even be able to change the price to a low amount. I would go with contacting Airbnb first. Click on the link below and you will find a a Help Guide on contacting Airbnb.
