How to collect fees when guest violate house rules?

What do we need to do if a guest violates a house rule?  How do we collect the fee that was stated in the house rule?

@Yaisa0  Airbnb does not enforce any fees for violating a House Rule. You're free to send the guests a Resolution Request and ask them to voluntarily pay, but obviously they won't accept the charge, and Airbnb won't take it any further.

Your recourse when guests break your rules is to terminate the booking. Those penalty fines you see mentioned in some listings are totally imaginary in practice, and that fact is too well known among guests to be effective as a deterrent.

As @Anonymous said, this is not a fee that airbnb supports. The onus is on you to try and collect it. Also, hosts have found that a high percentage of guests don’t even read the house rules. So, in addition to the house rules in my listing, and the house rules located in the STR, I also ask guest to agree to house rules if it’s an IB or a request for approval during booking. Then at check-in, I give a 5-10 minute tour and go over the house rules again.

@Yaisa0 When a house rule is broken, it’s up to the host to intervene immediately through airbnb’s messaging portal, reminding guest of your house rules and letting guest know that you will cancel the reservation if the behavior continues.
