How to turn on Private Entrance / Living Room under amenities?

Hi - I noticed there is now a Private Entrance and Private Living Room attribute on my listing page under amentities.  Both are marked as "off" or that I don't have those features, but I actually do have a private entrance and living room.  When I go to edit my listing, these two attributes are not listed under amenities for me to turn on.  Any ideas?

@David390 I changed my answer because another host had the same problem. She stated that freinds that had a just a room had the same thing happen. Sorry that I posted on something that I was unable to help with.

I thought forsure it would because it was a whole house listed.

Fixed!  I changed the listing to a room.  That allowed me to change the amenities to private entrance.  Then I changed it back to suite and it stuck.  Definitely a bug.  I hope this helps the rest of you as well.

L - thanks for the tip!  I tried and that worked too!  I got private entrace to work but can't get private living room to work but oh well.  Definitely a bug.  Thanks!

thank you! this totaly solved my issue 🙂 I know "entire place" assumes private entrance, but it just bugged me that it was crossed out there on my list.

Hi I tried that I changed it to a room but still couldn’t see where I could change private entrance in amenities. Do you remember where in amenities to change it? Was it just private room you had to change to get it?

Hey all,

I have the same problem with my listing which is set to "Entire Place" and "Private Entrance"
is not available when setting the ameities BUT crossed out in the Amenties the visitor sees.
[Private Living Room is available]

It's A BUG I think because when I chose "Private Room" the "Private Entrance"
IS available to enable !! which makes no sense since an entire place surely usually
has a private entrance and if not it should be something we can set.

Any ideas?

Entire Place ALWAYS has a private entrance, otherwise it would be NOT Entire Place. Not a bug.

@Sandra126, you've misunderstood.  We have our places listed as "Entire Place", but the listing shows "Private Entrance" crossed out -- as if it does not have one.

Confusing bug for guests.  Hope you all will report this in FEEDBACK section.

I think I didn't make myself clear. If it is Entire Place, it definitely has private entrance so it doesn't need mentioning. Only shared places need mention it. What Entire Place doesn not have an entry? How do guests get in otherwise?

Sandra, you are right that "entire place" assumes private entrance however I think folks don't like the way it looks to have it crossed out on their list of amenities, and it sends mixed messages. That's how I felt anyway. The solution suggested above {temporarily switching the type to 'room', selecting private entrance, then switching back to 'entire place'} worked for me!

I think the issue has now been resolved.  Private entrance shows up as an option to select now for entire home.  Private living room no longer shows on the amenities list under entire home on the customer-facing listing itself.
