I am becoming bloody annoyed!

I am new to airbnb but about ready to give up and book a hotel!

While going through the verification steps, after entering my driver's license, I am told to take a photo and submit. The site says to use the airbnb app, which I downloaded onto my phone but NOWHERE is there a place to take and submit a photo. I have a laptop with a camera and tried to use it and the site cannot find my camera! It is on the computer!

And to make matters worse - on the desk computer and laptop the price is $97 but clicking on the link texted to me on the phone the price is $117. Is this all a scam??

Sooooo VERY FRUSTRATED!

Looks like you got the picture thing handled, @Laurie120 because I can see a lovely picture of you :D.  Just so you know, I am not an Air BNB staff person.  I am just a host that tries to help others if I can.  As to the nightly rate, let me see if I can provide a non-scam explanation.  There is a general average nightly rate on the home page of a listing that is displayed during the search.  When specific dates are chosen, the rate will go up or down depending on the dates chosen.  Most host vary the rate depending on demand or day of the week.  Hope this makes sense and does not frustrate you further.  Hope you find a wonderful place for your trip.
