I recently had to ask a guest to leave because she smoked weed in the house and when asked she initially lied and later admitted it. I allowed her to stay but the next morning I discovered she had another guest staying with her that she did not book and a small dog. I have a no smoking & no pets policy and you must pay for additional guests. I asked her to leave and she complied. I called an officer to be present because I'm a new host and I did not want any trouble. Airbnb cancelled her and paid me in full including additional cleaning fees. Now, one week later, I was instantly booked by another female from the same city and state as the previous guest. I did not notice it at 1st but it was very suspicious so I cancelled her but now those dates are blocked so I cannot make any money. I've called Airbnb and I'm waiting to hear back. Would you agree that I did the right thing to ensure my safety? Would you find it suspicious that another guest has auto booked from a particularly small town and both guests happen to book your listing? I would and I hope Airbnb blocks these ladies from future retaliation against my home & business.
It certainly sounds like a weird coincidence- but I wonder why she would book again just to lose her money. Clearly you would not allow her to check in. You should have asked Airbnb to cancel if you were suspicious- now your calendars is blocked for those dates and you may have a financial penalty as well. Only thing you can do now is contact Airbnb and ask for their support
My home is self check in. I'm not surprised that they would attempt to book again since I may or may not be there. I actually wouldn't have cancelled. I just happened to look closer at the booking and made the decision to cancel. I'm new to hosting so I was forced to accept the penalty. I'm sure Airbnb will reverse the booking on my account and if not, they may not be the best and I may close my account.
Those that act in haste regret at leisure, I'm surprised that you did not contact her, to establish that indeed she was the same person and under those circumstances Airbnb would intervene on your behalf, what you did is what she expected you to do and being vindictive she knew the outcome.
In any event, it yet again highlights the inadequacies of the Airbnb vetting procedures.
Please keep us updated on the outcome.

It's for that reason that I cancelled to get her to respond to me but she has yet to reply back which makes me believe even more that they're connected because she does not care that her booking is cancelled. Plus, now they can cancel penalty free and she probably knew that as well. Both users joined in May 2017. I contacted Airbnb to see what they'll say and I'll definitely let you know.
So, Airbnb cleared my calendar as a courtesy but I was IB again on Saturday before I turned IB off and another guest checked in on yesterday. This guest sent me a strange message when they arrived, asking "if anyone was in the other rooms?" I thought this was odd because you booked one room and you shouldn't be concerned about the other room. I looked closely at his profile and HE WAS FROM THE SAME CITY as the other guests. I walked over to the room and opened the door and I was relieved to find that they were people I'd never seen before, however, I was immediately shocked again because the guest and his +1 were sitting on the floor ATTEMPTING TO SET UP A PET CAGE FOR A PET. I told them that it's a no pets policy and they'd need to remove it immediately. They acted nonchalantly and set on the bed. I told them I felt uncomfortable and they cancelled their reservation. They told me it was a MOUSE. Who keeps a pet mouse? So, they cancelled and I still got paid but immediately after that cancelled, I received another 'inquiry ' from an account from the SAME CITY and I'm positive that the original girl is in the profile picture. Am I crazy? Have you have 4 different people try to book you back to back from the same city? & people who are intent on gaining access to my home? I've unlisted my property at this time & reported to their trust and safety team. I don't like to seem like a paranoid or crazy person but it's pretty crazy coincidence.
