I am a new host and also having the same problem. Air BNB is telling me that my bank details are invalid. I have aslo set up a paypal account specifically for Air BNB but it is alaso telling that the paypal is invalid? Bit worried now abot not getting my payments! Does nayone use there debit card payment system?

I too had this problem last week, I contact Airbnb via their twitter who suggested I download the app to my phone and put in the payout details via the app - it worked!

The solution is to use another browser thank chrome, i have used opera and it worked.

I could not do this from AirBnB via the browser. Was also getting General Error (8001).

But then managed to add the account via the AirBnB app on my iPhone.

It's most likely because the registration session timeouts, just start again from Airbnb page and finish it without much delay. It worked for me.

I use Firefox.
