I got a refund wich i did not ask

Hi, I was wondering if someone got this similar problem of mine, I have booked an apartmen for Nice, talked with the host and everything, the payment was done via my personal paypal account and the booking was confirmed as shown in this email: 

Check-in Wed, 24 Aug

Checkout Tue, 30 Aug 12PM (noon)

After a few minutes I got this message telling me that a refund will be on the way: 

Hi Sorin,

A refund of €448 has been issued to your PayPal account for reservation AAH38Q at Port de Nice - Res. Bleu Rivage (you originally paid €448).

I don`t know why this happened since I have payed and wanted to book that apartment, can someone tell me what happened because I don`t understand anything from this situation and now the host considers that i am lieing and I did not made the payment.

Hi there, yes this same thing happened to me for a place in Bali.

There was an error with payment, "Unfortunately, a server error prevented your request from being completed. Airbnb may be undergoing maintenance or your connection may have timed out. Please try again." and then a confirmation email and then a refund email. Now I don't have enough money to try to put the booking through again, and the dates I had booked are now available again.

Help please!
