I just got a booking for six but the group are 8 .
4 Adults
2 kids of 5 and two kids of 2 and a half years old.
she , the guest booked first saying that they were a party of 6
And they are 8
It could be that they are not counting the two youngest. The booking page reads that infants under two do not count. I know they are a little older .
In any case please take a moment to view the links below:

@Juana81WOW! Your place looks amazing. I read that your listing states you can accomodate 6 persons. Yes, this group has 8 persons. If it were me, I would tell them that this is above your maximum occupancy. Let this person know that the 2 year olds DO count as persons. A group of 8 would be breaking your house rules. That is a legitimite reason to cancel this reservation.
in the future, you should know that if guests show up with more people then booked you don't have to let them inside.
You can send them an alteration request in front of the house and they should accept it immediately.
2+ y.o. do count as guests.
Infants under 2 y.o. do count as guests but can stay for free.
You can charge infants under 2 y.o. if you want but you have to state in your house rules that infants are charged the same as adults.
Since Airbnb introduced it's " infants for free" policy, numerous hosts don't accept infants anymore. It is because guests think they don't have to mention infants when booking and they can show up with as many infants they want even if the total number of heads in the group is higher than max capacity.
