I have a strict cancelation policy but actually would love to help my renter out of his Reservation.

New to Airbnb and like a newbie....I made all the stupid mistakes.  Turned on Smart Pricing at airbnb’s suggestion and it knocked down the price of my rental for Super Bowl Weekend.  Now the renter would like to have someone else stay but I’ve only got a 2 bed house and the 3 guys aren’t interested in sharing.  I’ve corrected my pricing errors and now check with the community for tips and recommendations.   What can I do to cancel the reservation or allow the guest to cancel without a penalty which will help him out and free up my home for someone else?  The rep from airbnb said if I canceled I would basically be penalized, lose my potential Super Host Status down the road and not be able to book for those dates.  Now I have a guest that wants to cancel which would really help me out !

Ask the guest to cancel and apply to you to waive your policy, @John1161. Or ask them to refer to Airbnb CS to do it for them - Airbnb can always cancel without any charges.

Thanks Marzena,

So what are the steps on his end....he’s a Newbie as well

He must contact Airbnb Customer Service maybe using Twitter to save time or filling in the form: https://www.airbnb.com/help/contact_us#/, explaining the whole situation in brief - that the host agrees to waive his cancellation policy. They should ask you to confirm.

Worked like a charm - Thanks Marzena !
