Hi @Jing2,

You cannot cancel on a guest without extenuating circumstances which having the price set wrong does not count.  Here are the penalites for when a host cancels on a guest:

Here are the penalties that a host incurs:https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/990

You also should see a new review for your listing.

@Jing2 contact Airbnb and explain that you are a new host and are just getting your listing set up when this Instant Book reservation came through. Here's how to contact Airbnb:

But @Clare0, where does she mention IB?  She admits it was a pricing error.

@Dave-and-Deb0 Brand new host with IB turned on.  No opportunity to adjust price before booking came through.

Hi @Clare0,

Is this our first fight?  Where does this host mention IB?

@Dave-and-Deb0 Ha! No.  I just connected the dots.  Have seen many new hosts with IB and their first review is a cancellation.

@Clare0,

So, your answer would change if this was not an IB situation?

And by the way, we could continue this discussion away from here as you do have my email, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc...

You are most likely right (who had any doubt) as this host still has IB enabled.

Hi, unless I'm looking at the listing totally wrong, she does have IB turned on. Maybe she is one of the "select new hosts" blessed by Airbnb with the mandatory IB status that cannot be turned off.

In that case @Jing2 you should definitely contact Airbnb, if only to be one of the many complaining and confused new hosts that have been confronted by this idiotic experiment. Hopefully Airbnb is being inundated with thousands of such hosts and changes this folly immediately...
