I need suggestions on how to organize bedding for various size beds.

My cleaning staff is struggling with keeping their storage closet organized with the labels and totes I have provided them. They are grabbing king quilt to put on a twin bed. I need a plan that is efficient they will use each week in restocking closet. I am not there to reorganize for them each week. I have labeled the shelves for them to know where to put wash cloths, towels, and sheets of various sizes. They are not paying attention to any of these labels as they are rushing to finish laundry and head out! I need foolproof organization storage totes, shelves, something.

@Deborah403   How is the laundry organized?  My housekeeper removes all linens from Bedroom A and that goes in the washer/dryer together.  When it comes out, it goes in the "Bedroom A changeover" basket or back on the bed.  Then the linens from Bedroom B go in, etc.  If your cleaners are mixing loads, this can lead to problems.   Obviously, I organize per room and not per bed size.

Another suggestion is to standardize or coordinate.  The linens for each bed are slightly different.  I have beige for King, white for Queen and blue patterned for Double.  The duvet covers follow suit, so a blue patterned cover is for the smallest bed.  I use King duvets and covers for both King and Queen beds, so they are interchangeable.

Talk to your cleaner.  Find out what her issue is with the linens besides rushing out the door.  I worked with my housekeeper over several months streamlining the cleaning and changeover tasks.  Make sure that your expectations can be met by her skill, or you may have to find a new cleaner.

Yes, colour coding per room sounds like a good suggestion if the cleaners do not have time to wash each room's linens separately.

Lorna,

Thank you so much for your thorough response!

I like the color coding plan. I used to do that with a previous home we owned and rented. When we sold the house, we had to sell it furnished. I supplied the new owners with all our coordinating bedding. Opening this new place, I decided to be all white! In theory, that is a charming and clean plan. In reality, it's a folding and organizing nightmare. I have even marked the corners of the sheets with a sharpie pen. Then, I discovered I had mislabeled them!

In regards to having the cleaning team wash by the room, I had not thought of that. I will approach this technique and see how this goes either now or after I buy the coordinating colors.

Thank you, again, for the such great advice!
