I've double booked my house - what do I do?

i use air bnb and another engine. the two are supposed to sync their calendars, but now I have two families coming for the same week. The three weeks before and four weeks after are all booked, so I can't offer a different week. Anybody done this and have a TIP for me (other than to shoot myself for being an idiot)?

Obviously, you would need to cancel one of the bookings, but with airbnb there are penalties for host cancellation, so perhaps choose to cancel the other one.

Before cancelling, be honest about the situation, then try to find alternative accomodation for them.  Slightly better than yours to keep them happy perhaps - offer to pay the difference.  

Do not use Instant Book on both platforms.

thanks for this response. I am not aware that I signed up for instant book, although a new one just popped up last night in Airbnb. Unrelated to this double book. Where do I find information re: instant book. Is it an option I can undo? Thanks for the advice.
