I want to begin hosting neighboring properties in my community on behalf of the owners...

Hi! I want to start offering my services to cabin owners at our lake and the lake next door to ours. People who like the idea of hosting their whole home, but have no desire actually overseeing it. I'm just wondering, am I becoming a property management Company at this point? Will I need excess insurance beyond what airbnb offers? (ie Liability if the guests are no good etc....) Or can I just act as a consultant of sorts. How would I get paid? Can airbnb split into 2 different paypal/bank accounts?

I have signed up (last summer) for the beta program offered by Airbnb to host for others in my area, but I'm not sure if that program is running at all running/not running in my area.

Any ideas, experience/advice, or links to more info would be much appreciated!! (PS I live in Canada)

Thanks!!

Lindsey

No the  co-host function, where you could look for a co-host  via Airbnb is no longer running.

If you want to set up a company offering commercial services, you need to make sure you have the right  insurance in place.

Airbnb does not offer insurance it has a 'guarantee' for hosts who want to claim for guest damage.

You also need to be very familiar with how Airbnb works so you can offer your client the best possible advice, keeping up to date with Airbnb's fast changing T&Cs.

Have a look at the Airbnb Help Centre it shows you how co-hosting works and how payments can be set up.

You will also need to have a proper contract drawn up covering what you offer, payment terms, T&Cs etc.

Thanks so much! Yes I am getting insurance right now. Sorry, to clarify, you say there is no more co-hosting function but to look at Help Centre to see how Co-hosting can work?
