I want to decline a request - my rating get's lower?

Hi, I received a request for end of May (just for my little room that I sometimes rent when we stay in town and need the rest of apt)

I believed the dates were locked since I might be able to rent the whole apartment in that period.

If I accept it, I lose capability to rent the whole one. It's weekend in a frequent period of the year....

For imagining the difference - pricing is like 40 versus 300.

I believe declining a request makes my positon lower and as a Superhost?

I don't want to get into any troubles.

Please, other Superhosts - what do you recommend?

Kind regards from Ljubljana

Hi @Marusa0 🙂

It won't hurt you to turn down a request only if you do it very often. I have done it several times since I started hosting for instance if I had a guest I didn't felt comfortable with when communicating with them.

It is only when cancelling an already accepted booking you will get penalised and airbnb will take away your superhost status for a year (unless you are contacting airbnb because of extenuating circumstances)

Kind regards Sandra
