i was shocked today to discover that Airbnb has broken into my email contact list. I discovered this when they sent me an email suggesting I could earn extra money by recommending hosting to my friends and then showed me two of my friends email addresses.
No, only through my AOL account
I don't know AOL, it's typical American i guess.
But maybe check your privacy settings and check the connected apps:
Emiel, thank you so much, I don't know if it solves their hacking into my private email contacts on my server but I saw thinks I didn't know about and was able to take action on those.
I will be calling them to address how and why they felt they had the right to hack into my server.

Go into your settings and scroll to your apps. Click on Airbnb and your allowances to the app will show up. You can give the access to contacts or not. Turn everything off.
If you use the app (I use the Android version) for hosting and traveling, the app can most times only switch, if you allows access to your contacts. I raised that as a concern with support after doing that twice I got the straight answer that that is a requirement.
My current solution is to stay in hosting mode.....
I have inquired if they think that is acceptable in Europe, where they have stricter data privacy.
