Hello!,
My husband and I (and another couple) booked a home several months back in Breckenridge, CO for Dec 27th-31st. Last night, on Christmas Eve and three days before we are set to leave, we were contacted by the host and she cancelled our stay. Yes, we can get a refund and a small coupon from Airbnb. We would love to still go skiing and have a great vacation but so close to the day of the trip and being Christmas Day now the availability is slim to say the least. If you know of anything or anyone willing to work with us on price please let me know! Thank you.
Not sure what it is like in Breckenridge etc but blowing a gale where I am.
I know people who work in Breckenridge and everything seems to be booked, even though not a particularly nice time of the year to ski, it is their busiest time of the year. Something may come up as a cancellation but it would be a long shot and you would need to hit all the different booking sites and hope. Probably best to look outside the ski areas, somewhere where you would accept the drive.
Will Airbnb not work to find you a new place? It seems like they frequently do that, maybe try them again and make a bit of a fuss? Using Twitter and something like "Airbnb ruins our Christmas" might get you very quick response.
We've done it all. Twitter, Facebook, emails, phone calls. They will rebook us but the only things available either won't accommodate us (4 adults) or are way beyond our price range and Airbnb is not willing the eat the extra cost.
What is your price point?
We originally paid $375/night for a 2 bed/2 bath home. We are willing to go up to $500/night
