Is Alcohol on the welcome basket a bad thing? Would it offeng anyone?

I was thinking about adding a few beverages here and there for guests, mainly on special ocasions. Like local beer during carnival, wine for x-mas, and a few other seasonal drinks. But I keep thinking what would happen if a guest was from a non drinking religion, would they just leave it, or would they get offended? Any experience anyone?

I leave guests alcohol and I see nothing wrong with it. Many guests drink it, some don't touch it, some take it with them. Anything can offend anyone. I try not to tip toe around people. It is a special touch from my region that I want to share with guests. If they don't like it, then oh well.
