Hi, have different issues with a host at moment. More here: https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Help/If-price-too-high-for-the-category-of-apartment/m-p/1687505...
This host has the same apartment two times listed. Photos a bit different but also same in both listings.
Titels, prices (8$) and calendars(!) are different.
In one i booked, in the other the apartment is available...
Is that legal?
Thanks
As for being legal I cant say Im not the expert,
But as a host in your back office there is a function that says exactly that "Duplicate Listing" why I dont know.
It can also work another way, some years ago my husband built 10 rooms that we listed on airbnb because airbnb doesn't have a multi booking platform we had to list each room separately so that function came in handy, he just added a number to each room like 1-10, all the photo's were all the same,
I dont see the point in your question but Im sure you will give me one,
Dont worry to much
@Thomas2913 You booked an apartment that you're unhappy with, and you're grasping at straws for a reason to claim it's "illegal." This is petty nonsense.
Maybe the listing complies with local laws and regulations, maybe it doesn't. Nobody here could possibly know one way or other. But if you don't want to stay there anymore, just send a request to advance your checkout date and move to another place: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/article/913/changing-a-reservation-for-a-place-to-stay
It's certainly not 'illegal'. If you dig deeper you'll probably find that while the listings are the same property, there are different attributes assigned to each. A host does this because of limitations in the Airbnb platform, not to deceive guests!
For example, Version A might have a limit of 6 people, allow long stays and only be available in off-peak season. Version B might allow up to 8 people, be available for a maximum stay length of 7 days and only be available in peak-season. It would not be possible to do this without duplicating the listing.
I once had a 3 bedroom pool villa and one of the bedrooms was on the ground floor, at that time the demand for 2 bedrooms was high, I had 2 listings one for a 2 bedroom and one for a 3 bedroom exactly the same photo's, it worked out well, never a problem
