Just received promo in my inbox

(It has been translated from Czech to English so mind the mistakes)

Is this allowed? Should I report this person? Also he/she booked a night, so should I accept? They should not be able to book a room without any reprecussions?

Hello Trinity and Cristina,

upon commencement of the project spoluhostitelství on Airbnb, I have allowed you to contact the offer of cooperation.

Definitely report! For myself, I dont want help wit anything because I want to keep it personal and simple. He can't book for someone else, you cannot book a stay if you are not one of the guests and not there upon checking in.

@Trinity-And-Cristina0, you don't have IB enabled. Am I right that it is in a decline/pre-approval stage at the moment!? Hen just decline and report!

Good luck!

Hi @Babs0, thanks for your reply! I want to decline it, but will this affect me?

Declining a booking will never affect you.  You have the right to choose who you want in your property.

Do no t fear. Even an Instant booking can be declined afterwards.

@Carmen23 Could I suggest that you take more caution when advising a host to cancel a confirmed reservation? It has serious implications for guests, hosts and the Airbnb community. Just sayin'!

Robert:  I can only speak from experience. I have done this in the past with no problem or repercussions.

Everyone should do what they feel is right for them.

@Trinity-And-Cristina0, declining is okay! Otherwise a host would always feel obligated to accept a booking. Exactly why I will never go for Instant Book, if it doesn't feel like a good match I decline a request!

Just always be careful with cancelling a booking!

@Trinity-And-Cristina0

Or accept the booking which they will have to cancel at own cost 😉

And if you don't already have verified ID chosen for booking, that would send them into an additional tailspin.

It's a bit mean, but from their side quite inappropriate. They could have at least sent you an inquiry only instead of a booking. Still inappropriate but less invasive than a booking request.

These offers are quite common and you shouldn´t worry, they won´t book, ever. On the other hand if you decline it would influence your search position. I never decline request like this. Flag them and send them a confirmation.

No it doesn't @Milada-and-Jiří0 I often decline bookings from those who don't read my house rules or listing. I still get regular bookings.
