I've booked an apartment in Vauxhall with my wife and her family for this month. We went onto AirBnB to print some docs where to our surprise; the listing was gone. I read that this is common when the host doesn't want to do any more bookings. The problem is since yesterday morning, I have not been able to contact the host via AirBnB email or phone. I notice that the phone is linked to a third party 'uber london apartments' but as far as transactions and emails, they've all been handled within AirBnB. The host has 600+ positive reviews and is verified. Am I overreacting or should I be worried?
@Vanessa-And-Michael0 - you have a confirmation receipt with your listing information. A host can "delist" a property at any time, that doesn't mean it's not going to honor it's current commitments. That being said, I would keep trying to reach the host. If you get no response, contact Airbnb.
In your situation I wouldn't keep trying the host I would give Airbnb a call.
It could be they have reached the London limit for lettings and just put the listing on hold or it could be something more serious. Airbnb should have ways to check this for you.
Well it turns out in the end the host Adam was a scammer. His account has since been taken down, and his properties are no longer listed. The scary part is he was listed as superhost. I've lost a lot of trust now going through this ordeal. One thing I can count on is that AirBnB will come through. They ended up booking us into a new place and they covered the difference. The problem is there is no way of knowing what the hosts will do.
