Long Term Rentals via Airbnb

I am searching for rental apartments in Boston, MA. I came across a couple of listings on rental websites, and the owners have a similar sitaution. Both of them reside abroad and claim to have set up the leasing through Airbnb.  I want information for the following:

1. Are there scams like these? Does Airbnb provide 12 month leasing options?

2. If yes, what is the procedure and how does maintenance work?

Please help me as soon as possible.

People do use ABB to rent long term, maintenance would be no different to short term rental.

I have no idea if the examples you are looking at are legit.

Have the listings you are looking at, had reviews from previous guests and are they positive?

How long have they been hosting?

Do the owners of the listing have a completed profile - ie full face photo, passport or driving licence and other ID?

Some areas to look at to help you make a decision.

Whereas long term lets are more unusual particularly for a year or more, they do happen.

If in doubt, get in touch with BnB directly about a listing to verify all is okay before you commit to booking.

For such a long term listing you might feel safer renting through an established lettings agency.
