Mid reservation cancellation due to guest illness in family not here with them

Do I have to make a refund if while staying a guest has a family member whom is not staying with them has a medical emergency and leaves partly through their booking?

I don't see why you should - has the guest asked for a refund?

@Yvonne-And-Bryan0  If AirBnB tries to give the guests back the money explain their own extinuating circumstances policy to them. It only covers the people on the the trip, not others not traveling with the group.

Circumstances that require documentation

Serious illness of a host, guest, or any member of the traveling party. You’ll be asked to provide a general statement from a physician confirming that the person can't travel. The statement must be dated after the reservation was booked.

Thank you. That is what I  thought but have not run into this before. Thanks again for the quick answer. Cheers Yvonne
