I have had poor stars on several occasion regarding the cleanliness of the accommodation. In fact, the apartment is perfectly cleaned but as it is old this lead to guests being confused. We ask them to contact us if the apartment is dirty but they don't, instead, they wait for the end of their stay to leave their reviews. 

Does anyone have a solution to remedy this ongoing matter?

I see you are the agency with 16 listings so I don't know which one you are refering to.

MANY people consider old = dirty and maybe this is why there are so many new IKEA generic listings on the market.

On the other side "antique", "old but refurbished" and "worn out" are completely different things.

If the apartment/furniture are worn out then I am affraid your only option is to renovate or replace.  Is it worth it or not you will have to do the math.
