Mutual Cancellation - Nearby attractions closed

Hi All,

is there no way to do a mutually agreed cancellation - without incurring penalties or going through a dispute resolution?

My guest booked to stay at my property specifically to host a function at a nearby restaurant.  After booking, we both found out that the restaurant will be closing next month for a few months to fully renovate.  There is no issues with my house - but I can understand why he wants to cancel - and he is asking to cancel more than a month in advance.  He would like me to cancel the reservation - but I can't because I risk penaties - such as losing superhost status.  He feels he will be unfairly penalised by AirBNB by having to pay cancellation fees (which he says is $150).  I agree that he should be able to cancel without fees.

How do we cancel his booking without either of us being unfailry penalised?

Be sure your online messaging shows your mutual agreement to end the reservation and then have the guest call Airbnb to cancel.
