My Superhost coupon has changed validity from the time it was issued

I received a Superhost coupon a while back (around 8 months ago). The details in the email didn't state that it can only be used once, so I used it for a reservation and then kept the rest of the credit thinking I would use it for a future one.

Last week when I tried to use it again it didn't work and the message was that the coupon can only be used one.
Is it possible that this rule was included later on and that I can "reactivate" the remaining of the travel credit?

I honestly cant remember any rule other than: can only be used once as part of one booking. Unless it was different more than two years ago?
