My guest took with her my umbrella. I sent message and request to compensation for me.

I wait for reply.

My question.

How does this work in this case?
Deduct from the deposit the airbnb?

@B3 is the umbrella that meaningfull? Are you sure she took it? You can ask her for extra money but I don't think she will pay but she will for sure leave a bad review. Is the umbrella worth it?

If the guest doesn't voluntarily pay you can put in a claim through Airbnb Resolution Centre if you feel the cost is worth claiming for and you are 100% certain only this guest could have taken it.

@B3  For an umbrella I would never even have mentioned it to the guest. No umbrella is worth a bad review.

Since you have already "accused" the guest of "stealing" your umbrella, @B3, you will just have to deal with the fall out from that, probably a negative review.  In the future, either ignore the loss, or if it is important, gently ask the guest if something was taken in error.  If it is a major theft and you can "prove", report to the police and make a claim with Air BNB.  Good luck with hosting!
