My guest wasn't allowed to leave review because she had to cancel her last night with me.

My first ever guest was charming and wanted to leave me a positive review but she wasn't allowed to because she had to cancel her last night with me. I wanted to leave HER a good review too but there seems no way either of us can do it. I was hoping for a good first review to encourage other bookings! Is there any wat round this? She stayed two nights and was very happy!

You should just have amended the booking to one day less (and or special offer) and asked the guest to accept it.

Hi,

As a rule, if you cancel you lose the ability to leave a review  - https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/article/368/can-i-leave-a-review-for-a-canceled-reservation

However, you scenario is different because from what you say, the guest actually spent two nights with you as such is in a position to actually comment on the accommodation/ your hosting.  I'm not sure if Airbnb can override this as their computer systems may be set such that a cancellation blocks a feedback option although I would contact them to enquire if there is a way around this. I'd do it soon to be within the 14 day review period otherwise you lose any chances of this being a possibility.

It's a shame because as you say, it would have been great to get that first brilliant review! If Airbnb is unfortunately unable to assist you on this occasion at least I'd hope they would flag this as change request for future similar situations.

You have a beautiful and cosy property with gorgeous nearby locations i.e, Bourne Woods and I’m sure you will soon have opportunities for more positive reviews.

I wish you all the best.

Ama

PS, contacting them by Twitter or Facebook is the quickest option

@Abigail3

What a shame...

If ABB doesn't help you and your guest write reviews after the fact, you could do something else that is better than nothing:

Since you do not have any reviews at all, it will at least pop for now and until you get more reviews, and that is what's important here.

Wait until you hear if ABB will help you or not. Only then go to Host section upper right hand > Reviews > References.

There you will be able to invite her to write you something. You'll probably need to have the email address that she used to register for her account. If you don't have it, maybe call her (no. on the booking confirmation).
