I have a reservation from 12/27-1/3/2018 in NYC
the guets keep changing thier mind and asking to alternate and shorten the stay twice.
(not true the alternation request, trough arbnb chat)
the last time they asked to shorten the stay and leave on December 31st (3 days earlier), I offered 1 nights refund. Thats the only week Im renting this winter. So its feels like lose situation.
Whats the best way to navigate that?
Send then alternation request with a higher price?
Tell them they can leave whatever day they like, but the price will remain the same 😉 That would be in the ideal world. How likely are they to cancel the entire reservation if you do not comply with their wishes ? And how likely are you to be able to re-rent if they do cancel ?

Your guest is being unreasonable.
What will happen will depend on the cancellation policy you have chosen for your listing.
I agree you don't need to accept any alteration the guest sends you.
However if you have a flexible or moderate cancellation, they can just can cancel. (why I have a strict cancellation policy).
Personally in your situation if I had a strict cancellation policy I wouldn't accept any further alterations.
