I can't see your listing because it has been suspended, but I had a look at your reviews. Of the seven reviews, four mention issues with the building'/apartment/contents being old/needing a refresh, and at least two of these four appear to be African guests, one European and the other I am not sure as his profile doesn't say.
So, I don't think it's necessarily a case of European guests expecting European standards. While some things may be out of your control, it is important to be objective and look at the feedback. There is a difference between a listing that is suspended because one guest gave it a 1 star review and a listing that is scoring low on a regular basis.
None of your reviews are unpleasant. In general, the guests seem to really like the location and praise the cleanliness and hosting skills. Where things are falling down seems to only relate to the condition of the listing.
Your guests mention:
- Building is old - perhaps you can't do anything about that, but one mentions that the photos look like they must have been taken a long time ago. Are you sure your photos are really accurate and up to date?
- Lots of old, useless stuff in the place. I don't know what the guest means by old and useless, other than broken, faulty? Get rid of these things and replace them with better if they are necessary and you can afford to.
- Bathroom needs a fresh lick of paint. This should not be too difficult to do and not costly if you can do it yourself.
- I can only see one review that mentions price, but of course, this might have been an issue for others and reflected in their ratings/private feedback. However, that guest mentions price in the context of the condition of the property.
So, these are all things you can improve on. Paint the bathroom, get rid of the junk and take new, accurate photos.
