New Member; Building Reputation

Hi Everyone!

I am a brand new member to AirBNB. I was hoping to inquire how to best build a good, positive reputation as a tenant/renter for the AirBNB community? Are there any tips that can be provided to know what is looked for to get a good rating/review built up in the community such as leaving the residence clean, writing good reviews, etc.?

Full disclosure: I am attempting to put myself in a good standing in order to build up my reputation so that I might host my husband and my retirement from the United States Army in July of 2021. I know a lot of places have a no-party policy, but we were looking at 10-14 people for a BBQ/Pool Party in Las Vegas. Nothing crazy, just wanting to celebrate our long overdue retirement, and make sure that we have a positive rating before we book, so that we don't scare anyone off!

Thank you so very much!

Melissa 🙂

ooh it is so refreshing and nice that you ask how to be a perfect guest 🙂

It is not hard at all, my favorite guests will:

  1. read my listing's description, house rules and look at my pictures carefully before booking
  2. answer my questions in my welcoming message ( do they need a parking spot, the exact time of their arrival and what beds they would like to use)
  3. ask up front everything they want to know and it is not written in my description
  4. Arrive on time
  5. Listen when I show them around and give the instructions about the apartment and appliances
  6. Always close and lock the entrance door behind them
  7. Don't overuse A/C and heating, turn off the lights on their way out
  8. Respect our house rules
  9. Don't do any damage, if an accident happens then let me know timely
  10. Check out on time
  11.  Leave the apartment tidy and clean
  12. Give me 5* review of coooourse 😄

Hi @Melissa917

Get started with making some bookings for your next trips away, be communicative with your hosts and treat their homes like your own and you will build up a good reputation.

Regarding your Las Vegas plans, start your research early, identify suitable properties and reach out to the host and be honest about the planned party details.  Then there are no suprises and arrangements can be made to ensure you can relax and have a good time plus the host can be confident that you will take great care of their place (and take responsibility for any damage caused by you or your guests).

Hope that helps!
