New to hosting.....

What do you do in a situation where the person that booked is clearly not part of the group who showed up?

Annie, party of 3” is 3 guys, none of which look like Annie’s profile picture.

@Beth3825

Then it is a 3rd party booking er maybe even a false account.

Both are violations of Airbnb Terms of Service

Does the account have ID verified ?

Ask the guests for clarification.

You can refuse access to the accomodation, if the person who booked does not show up..

You should report it to Airbnb.

Best regards,

Emiel

@Beth3825,

I'd cancel the reservation, and notify Airbnb the reason for the cancellation.  They obviously were trying to mislead you, and may possibly committing fraud if the payment was made with Annie's card without her knowledge.  If you let them remain knowing that neither of them is Annie or the person that booked, you will not be covered if they create any damages, and possibly not get paid for the stay.
