No 25% of cancellation fee for cancelled bookings made before March

Hi all, wondering if anyone has experienced Airbnb cancelling bookings, that were made prior to March 2020, due to ‘extenuated circumstances’ but not been paid 25% of the cancellation fee? I have had several bookings of considerable amounts cancelled but Airbnb have said the 25% of cancellation fee was only valid for bookings between March 15 and may 31st. Is it right that they continue to roll out covid relate cancellations with no compensation to the host now?
Any light shed would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

The 25% payout program for COVID related cancellations was indeed only for bookings with check-in date between March 14 and 31. You can read all details here:

@Emiel1 thanks for clarifying, in this case would the cancellation fee not apply? I’m struggling to understand how Airbnb can cancel so many bookings and in many cases not allow the cancellations to happen until so close to the check in date, without any consideration of the host?
