Hello from Woolgoolga. Third week of hosting just over. All in all its going well and I am very happy with progress. This is a fab site too which really helps, as you can see above I am not into the social sites, and I live 25km away from the bolthole my pet name for my townhouse in Coffs Harbour. It's quite lovely really (:
The very best thing here is I can touch type, so this is taking a lot of the "pain" away.
So a a couple of guests are shocked that I am not there to greet them personally when they arrrive and though I've made it explicit in the profile, it's clear from reading the great posts here, that most don't read the profile. So all I really want to do is be able to save a message in the Airbnb msging section somewhere, that I can reuse. Does anyone know? Thanks in anticipation...
I am also thinking something small and laminated that includes the essentials such as emergency no's. my contact. I dunno what else?
The picture I use on my listing is actually the view from my deck where I live in Woolgoolga. Amazing, I am so lucky and I hope to Airbnb it over January '18 as my daughter is having a baby in Tasmania. . First time granma so exciting. I am knitting.
So one guest suggested that the picture was not representative of the location, and I said to him for $30 a night do you really think you are going to get that view???. It's a picture of the coast where we live, and is labelled likewise, so should i change the picture to better reflect the location, yet it's a handy link to a future airbnb so any advice is greatly appreciated .... I am constantly trying to improve, but very happy with the results all the same.. (:
Lots of questions, thankyou for reading this

Your listing name suggests right on the beach - maybe change to something like "Seaside Rendezvous (5min to beach)"
And on image
10/10: McCauley's Headland is great for watching whales
Add ( x min. walking/ x miles away)
Saved messages:
Using a computer you'll see underneath the space for a message "Use saved message".
Click on that, and a pop-up window will give you the option to write/edit/choose the messages of your choice.

Hi Andrea thankyou very much such great advice as I don't want to mislead anyone, so I will also use the message thingo to save a standard message. Have a great day! I stayed at the Blue Sheep in Amsterdam it was fabulous!
Yes thankyou Quincy (
Hi
We also do not live on the premises and not big on social media. What we've done is typed up a one pager with additional information regarding house rules and other useful information such as wi-fi code, television access, etc. If we cannot stay to meet guests we send them a message letting them know to review the sheet(which is also laminated) for answers to questions they may have and any additional questions they have they can certainly contact us.
Hi Jerry and Lynne, thankyou I will take that advice and nice to know someone else out there is not a massive social media fan! I will start putting together that laminated checklist now, and make some effort to meet some of my guests. Cheers, Liz
