Occupancy Tax Fee

Who pays the occupancy tax fee...Airbnb or does the host collect ?  I'm not sure how this process is done.  I am checking now to 

see if the city that I'm located has a tax fee like this...most likely, yes!  So, if Airbnb has it in the rent pricing fee then do they automatically take care of it for the host person?  Would Airbnb pay the tax to the city?

I pay an occupancy tax. 3% above everything else. Here, this is a city only tax. Airbnb only collects city and state SALES tax. Occupancy tax is an entirely different matter. I had to get a city permit, separate from my sales tax permit, and I pay this directly to the city.
