Occupancy Taxes

Hi AirBNB

How do I add a line on my listing to collect the Occupancy tax which equates to 14%. At present I'm including it in the nightly fee which I therefore cannot pass onto the renter as a direct cost....

Please advise.

Many thanks

I do what you do @Rie16 about occupancy tax but deduct it from my gross earnings along with other direct costs for purposes of reporting income for income tax.

There is no line item for you to add the tax on this platform.  You can take an extra step for each reservation so at the time of the check in, you request money for the occupancy tax.  Of course you inform each guest you will be doing that.  I suggest you do not collect the tax until the guest checks in so you can avoid having to take separate steps to refund the tax should there be a cancellation.

Wouldn't it be great if Airbnb added a line item for bed tax, likeTrip Advisor does on their site?

So easy peasy to collect!
