Permission and Taxation in Portugal

Dear friends!
I would really appreciate some help concerning the airbnb activity in Portugal. If i rent out out my room here in Portugal, do i have to register somewhere, get a permission and do i have to pay a taxes because of that activity? Sorry for the silly question, i just liked the idea of hosting surfers, but never considered this as a source of income. And i may get into troubles now, as i see... 😞

I can't speak to any rules about Portugal, but you are the only person that can do the research and confirm how the rules apply to you. Having a vacation rental property is a business, and it takes work, and that starts by knowing how to start the business and what the rules are for your city, county, district, region, state, and what Airbnb does for you.  It took a lot of work for me to be prepared to do a lot of work.  🙂  Good Luck!
