Primary Home- moving out of the area and renting out full time

Hello All! 

We are moving out of state- all the way across the country but planning on keeping our home. We in the past have rented out our first floor apartment and it is still set up in a similar fashion. That being said how do you transition your previous primary residence to full time rental? We are planning on removing most personal items, setting up rooms with different beds and furniture but I feel like there are things I am not thinking of? Anything that you forgot about? We are still planning on coming back to our house from time to time so I want to find a balance of homey but not "too personal". Any suggestions are welcome!
