Refund to guest never received

Hello, we rented an apartment in miami to accomodate our tenants since we had a pipe burst. When the tenants arrived to the airbnb unit the ceiling was caved in and leaking. The tenants left because they had children. I notified the host and told him the situationhe said he would have it fixed immediately. Thenext day we sent the tenants over again and the ceiling was still not fixed. At this point the tenants were furious and we had to accomodate them elsewhere. I contacted the host and told them the problem was still there.  He apologized and said the contractor had lied and told him it was fixed. We requested a refund immediately.  Host was cery nice said no problem! He would issue a

refund. I contacted him 2 weeks later as i still saw no refund , he said he would check on the status and get back to me. Never heard from him . We disputed the charge with credit card company. Now 3 months later the credit card company says airbnb issued paperwork that the charge was good. I now contact airbnb and they tell me that the owner is only willing to issue half the refund. Meanwhile i have pictures to prove that host did not deliver the unit as advertised and proof of our conversations with him apologizing and explaining a full refund will be issued. I mean does this sound like a scam and air bnb ia letting this host get away with it!

At Airbnb, the way a cetain case is handled depends on who is doing it, I mean the actual person and their ideas, @Janet238. There have been stories from hosts here that guests were refunded even without informing the host. So why did they handle your case in this way? File a claim or escalate it with Airbnb. How did you contact the host? Did you take any photos?
