I am a concerned person who happens to live near a beach. The current renters have two very large dogs and are letting them poop all over the beach and are not cleaning it up. How do I report this
I would report it to the host if you know who owns the property and whoever is responsible for the beach,
@Jennifer3526 A few options:
1) Call the police and report the heinous crime. See how long you can keep them on the line before they burst out laughing and hang up.
2) Contact the owner of the home and propose that they get straight down to the property at once, turn their guests over their knee and give them a thorough spanking.
3) Exercise your right as a Concerned Citizen to directly ask the dog owners to dispose properly of the poop the next time you witness this.
Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that everyone should pick up after their dogs. But neither the homeowners nor Airbnb are responsible for how guests behave outside of the property. This is really just between you, them, and your fellow beachgoers.
@Anonymous you have given me a few chuckles Andrew , as I wind up my listing this week I must say I will miss the laughs . All the best H
When some lovely dog walking persons" wee jock " or 'little gussy' used to decorate my front gate post I simply put a pile of pooper bags under a rock in that exact place . Owners turn their eyes away when their dogs are doing their business , but those of us who encounter it either near our cars or our steps or on the footpath or 'horrors ' up a tree in a bag ,or in our bins are not so happy. Dog owners do not all do the right thing and not all beaches are created equal.Some allow dogs, some do not , but maybe your local council can be encouraged to put up signs or you could put a note in the owners letter box ,possibly in a plastic bag ,to alert them to the issue . All hosts have manuals and you could ask them to pop a note in to this effect . We always ask our guests to respect our neighbours but sometimes our neighbours expect those they distinguish as our guests to comply with their own notions of propriety . Next time just speak to them . H
"go to the bathroom"? Oh my giddy aunt! I think the word you're searching for is 'defecate'.
This reminds me of an incident in my early days of hosting when a (fully sentient, adult) American apologised for her partner racing past her into the property. Apparently his haste was necessitated by an urgent need to "go potty". It was hard to maintain my composure, very hard.
