Responding late

We have only just started Airbnb and we responded to a request and had a dialogue about if we could host the guest, but unfortunately only agreed tohat we couldn't accommodate the guests after the 24 hours timescale. We were then notified that we had responded late and that we 'would be punished'! Our listing seems to have disappeared off the site. What happens next??!! Lesley

Hi @Lesley4,

Is this your listing? https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/10495318

Anyway, if it is a "reservation request", you have 24 hours to either approve or decline.  If it is a "reservation request" and the clock is ticking down, you should decline and tell the guest they can put in another request or you will be penalized.

If it is a "reservation inquiry", you have 24 hours to either respond, decline or pre-approve.  Once you do any of these, you do not have anything else left to do and you will not be penalized.

I hope this clears things up.

Dave

Thanks for that information - and yes that's our listing! So maybe it is there?
